Payment + Refund Policies
By registering for a Pond Hockey Classic event, the Team Captain acknowledges and agrees to the following payment, refund and cancellation policies.
Registration & Payment
Team Fee: $1,200 per team. Full payment is required at registration. Each registration includes a $300 non-refundable deposit. If payment is unsuccessful, the Team Captain must update the payment method within 10 days or the registration may be canceled.
Team Withdrawal Policy
Before November 15, 2026
Teams canceling before November 15, 2026 will receive a refund less the $300 non-refundable deposit. For a $1,200 registration, the refund would be $900.
On or after November 15, 2026
Teams canceling on or after November 15, 2026 will not receive a refund or credit. This includes cancellations resulting from player availability, injuries or illness, travel complications, scheduling conflicts, roster changes, or personal circumstances. Teams concerned about weather-related risk are encouraged to purchase Team Registration Protection Insurance.
Event Cancellation Policy
Events are outdoor tournaments played on natural ice and depend on weather and safe ice conditions. If an event is canceled because of adverse weather or unsafe ice, Pond Hockey Classic will not issue refunds or registration credits. Insured teams may submit a claim under their applicable policy. Registered teams receive priority access to the corresponding event the following year, but must pay that year's applicable fee; priority access is not a refund, credit, or complimentary registration.
Tournament Format & Schedule Changes
Pond Hockey Classic may change or relocate the venue, modify rink configurations, adjust or delay schedules, shorten games, reduce games, change formats or divisions, suspend play, or make other reasonable operational adjustments needed for safety. An event that continues after such changes is not canceled, and refunds, credits, or protection benefits will not be issued solely because of those modifications.
Injuries & Player Availability
No refunds or credits are issued for player injuries, illness, inability to field a complete roster, scheduling conflicts, or changes in player availability. Teams remain subject to these policies regardless of individual circumstances.
Team Registration Transfers
Registrations may not be privately sold or transferred without express written approval. Unauthorized resale or transfer may result in cancellation without refund. Contact Pond Hockey Classic directly regarding available options.
Travel Expenses
Pond Hockey Classic is not responsible or liable for expenses incurred by teams, players or guests relating to tournament travel, including but not limited to:
- Airfare
- Lodging
- Rental vehicles
- Personal automobile travel
- Ground transportation
- Meals
- Other travel-related expenses
Because Pond Hockey Classic events are weather-dependent, teams and participants are strongly encouraged to select refundable or flexible travel arrangements whenever possible.
Participants should carefully review hotel, airline and rental-car cancellation policies and may wish to purchase separate travel insurance for expenses not covered by Team Registration Protection Insurance.
Team Registration Protection Insurance
Outdoor pond hockey comes with an unavoidable variable: Mother Nature.
To give teams the ability to protect their registration investment, Pond Hockey Classic offers optional Team Registration Protection Insurance during the registration process.
The protection is designed to provide eligible reimbursement of the team's registration fee if a tournament is canceled because of a covered event, including qualifying adverse weather or unsafe ice conditions.
How It Works
- Registration Protection is optional.
- Teams may purchase or decline coverage during registration.
- The cost of Registration Protection is separate from the $1,200 team registration fee.
- Coverage applies according to the terms and conditions of the applicable policy.
- Claims and reimbursement are subject to the policy's eligibility requirements, exclusions and claims process.
- Registration Protection does not alter Pond Hockey Classic's published refund and cancellation policies.
Teams should review the complete policy terms before deciding whether to purchase or decline coverage.

Please Consider Registration Protection Carefully
Pond Hockey Classic strictly adheres to its published Payment + Refund Policies.
Our tournaments are built around something we cannot manufacture: winter.
We will do everything reasonably possible to conduct each event safely and successfully, but weather and natural ice conditions are outside of our control.
If your team is not comfortable assuming the financial risk associated with a weather-related tournament cancellation, we strongly recommend purchasing Team Registration Protection Insurance during registration.
Hockey the Way Nature Intended.
